Services Offered

Gender Affirming Therapy

Are you questioning your gender, or begining your medical transition? I can help with:  1) assessment/letter writing services for those actively pursuing medical interventions, and 2) therapy to explore gender affirming interventions, (social transition, coming out, hormone therapy, surgery). I work with people of all ages, and I am competent and comfortable assessing those with binary or non-binary identities, as well as "non-typical" transition journeys. Individuals who choose to work with me are often seeking someone with a lived experience similar to theirs.

I am focusing on providing short-term transition-specific counseling to transgender and non-binary people. I no longer provide long-term, supportive therapy for general therapeutic concerns, such as anxiety/depression. I am happy to provide a referral to more general therapeutic support.

Recovery Supports

Substance abuse keeps us from connecting to ourselves and others. Substances are used as a way to lessen emotional pain, cope with grief, or manage unresolved symptoms of trauma. Addiction doesn't discriminate; it affects individuals and families regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic background. The shame of addiction affects all who have been trapped in the cycle of substance abuse.

In my practice, I use an trauma-responsive, holistic, solution-focused approach to support decreased feelings of shame, and increased connection to others. I am supportive of both harm reduction and abstinence models, knowing that each individual's journey and relationship to substances is unique. In my work, it has been an honor to witness the profound life transformation that occurs for people when they choose recovery over addiction.

Individual Therapy

Life transitions and changes are the things that most often bring people into my practice. Clients who work with me are often struggling to make sense of the world and their place in it, yet are curious and ready to engage in the therapy process. My therapeutic approach is depth-oriented and process-driven, focusing on deepening connection to oneself and embracing the present moment to access the parts of us ready to heal and thrive.Life transitions can be particularly challenging for queer and trans individuals, as these changes often intersect with issues of identity, belonging, and self-acceptance.

I create a supportive space where clients can explore these intersections and the unique challenges they present. Whether it's navigating a new phase in life, dealing with shifts in relationships, or grappling with changes in identity, I guide clients in understanding and embracing their authentic selves. My goal is to help you build resilience and find clarity amidst uncertainty, empowering you to move forward with confidence and a deeper connection to yourself.

If you are seeking to heal deeper attachment  wounds, complex-PTSD, or developmental trauma, ask me about my use of the Neuro-Affective Relational Model in my work. Read more about NARM here.
